Using Mailman in vb.NET
« on: November 17, 2017, 08:14:20 AM »
Is there an upper limit on the length of the body text? Recently, I'm getting the following in Mailman.LastErrorHtml: "<SmtpCmdResp>501 Syntax error - line too long</SmtpCmdResp>" and the email fails. The body text length is about 8000 characters. If I replace the body text with "this is a test", I don't get the error and the email is successful. Prior to recently, this error did not occur with the 8000-character text. Any ideas?

There should be no limit.  It would be good to post more information, such as a code snippet, the full contents of the LastErrorText, and the contents of the SmtpSessionLog property.
