Bounce Email
« on: October 30, 2017, 11:15:23 AM »
We are having a problem with a production customer of ours with incoming email being rejected.  We are using Chilkat.NET45.dll Version 9.5.0.61.

The several problems we are having.  All are causing discomfort for our customers as email is being rejected rather being pulled into our application for treatment.  The issues are:

1.   Sometimes the “To” address of the email is not being read by when we pull email from the incoming email server.  It is blank.  However, retrieving a copy of the email from the server shows that there is, in fact, a “To” address in the email.  What are all the conditions where this can occur?  Is there anything we can do about it?  For example, is this corrected by a more recent version of your dlls?
2.   Sometimes an incoming email is given a bounce code of 6, but we can find no apparent reason why the email was designated as an autoreply/out of office email in the header.  What are all the items in the email header which would cause Chilkat to identify an email this way and give it a bounce code of 6?  Is there anything we can do about it?  For example, is this corrected by a more recent version of your dlls?
3.   We see emails rejected with a bounce code of 6, but very frequently we do not have the Subject of the email included in the information passed to our application.  Why is this happening and what can we do about it?  Without the Subject information, finding the original email for troubleshooting purposes is nearly impossible for us.

Thank you.

This sounds like a support question that should be sent to support@chilkatsoft.com.  If you are licensed and your support hasn't expired, then Chilkat will promptly assist you..
